Louis and Prodromos volunteered to work on existing documents after release. Input from a Java-Base delevoper is needed. Further discussion to be done in the April developers meeting.

(feel free to send proposal). 15 min per proposal. The enhancements should also be performed with respect to MDM development.

Session 10: Data analyses and alarm tools

  • Session helper: Jochen; WI: 3/6, session length: 1h30
  • Description: The sessions deals with the handling of the data measured by perfSONAR. One issue is which data is considered as anomaly. This is obvious for some metrics (e.g. availability), while it is not for other metrics (e.g. jitter). Based on the different tools that are already existing it should be discussed how alarms should be raised and how they should be tracked. Such a functionality can be attached to the existing visualisation tools, in particular the HADES and BWCTL visualisation. The outcome of the session should a decision for the technical solution. Main issues:
    • Data analyses: Presentation from a student (Thomas) working on his diploma thesis about analysing Hades data.
    • Alert system: What components are needed? What do we already have (Hades alert system prototype)? What needs to be done?
    • The users' expectations: Possible perfSONAR Applications (by Toby Rodwell), see http://wiki.geant2.net/bin/view/SA3/Sa3PerfmonMain#PerfSonarApps
