Description
Environment in which individual users can access computers, databases and experimental facilities simply and transparently, without having to consider where those facilities are located. Or distributed computing environment which operates as a uniform service, which looks after resource management and security independently of individual technology choices.
Definition
Grid is a type of parallel and distributed system that enables the sharing, selection, and aggregation of geographically distributed "autonomous" resources dynamically at runtime depending on their availability, capability, performance, cost, and users' quality-of-service requirements.
