Deliverables
DJ1.1.1 - Requirements Report on the Design of the Measurement System (433 KB)
Date: February, 11th 2005 Download: media:GN2-04-150v14.pdf
This deliverable presents the first outcome of the GN2-JRA1 Work-Item 1 which aims at investigating the requirements from the users, the requirements from other JRA1 related activities, the existing infrastructures, and tools both deployed within the GN2 community or of direct interest for the JRA1 activity.
DJ1.2.1: General Framework Design - Single Domain (483 KB)
Date: June, 2nd 2005 Download: media:GN2-05-057v5.pdf
This document presents the architecture of a performance measurement framework for the GÉANT2 and Internet2 community. The document aims to provide a framework for integration and evolution of monitoring tools deployed in different domains. This integration effort is aimed at giving an end-to-end (between network edges) approach for network management: this includes performance monitoring, security management and fault tracking.
DJ1.2.2: Detailed Design of GÉANT2 JRA1 Base Services and Application Programming Interface (API) (1919 KB)
Date: November, 30th 2005 Download: media:GN2-05-279v12.pdf
This document presents the design refinement of base services instances defined in the GFD, including the APIs of the service described. It also details the choice of technology made by the project and shows the schema used as API.
DJ1.2.3: Network metric report
Date: January, 31st 2006 Download: media:GN2-05-265v4-Deliverable_DJ1-2-3_Network_Metric_Report.pdf
This report identifies the network performance metrics of potential interest for the users of the perfSONAR monitoring framework (developed by Joint Research Activity 1 of the GÉANT2 project), and describes methods for composing them. In the first part, the document provides a categorized list of these metrics and presents the methodologies that have to be followed in order to measure them with the necessary accuracy. In the remaining of the document composition of metrics is described, using three different composition methods: aggregation in time, aggregation in space and concatenation in space.
DJ1.3.1: Phase I - Implementation Report
Date: May, 24th 2006 Download: media:DJ1-3-1_Phase_One_Implementation_Report.pdf
The GN2 JRA1 activity has delivered its first set of services. Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) have been produced, or modified, to make use of the functionality offered by those services and, thus, operate over multiple boundaries. This document presents the status of the services and GUI delivered so far as well as the release management and testing process that will be applied to the services. It also aims at providing the directions for future development for those services.
DJ1.3.2: Phase II - Implementation Report
Date: September, 18th 2006 Download: media:DJ1-3-2_Phase_Two_Implementation_Report.pdf
The GN2 JRA1 activity has delivered a second set of services and enhancements were conducted on the services developed previously. Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) have been produced, or modified, to make use of the functionality offered by those services and, thus, operate over multiple boundaries. This document presents the status of the services and GUI delivered so far as well as a summary of the first release management process set up to provide the first service release. This document presents as well the directions for future development for those services.
DJ1.0.1: Plan for Transition of JRA1 into Production Service
Date: December, 18th 2006 Download: media:DJ1.0.1_v19.doc
This Deliverable describes the Multi-Domain Monitoring service being developed under JRA1. It considers the steps necessary to migrate this activity to an operational service and sets out initial ideas about the transition process necessary to implement such a service the organisational structures to provide user and supplier support are described as well as the intermediate steps that are possible in the implementation of a fully operational service.
DJ1.2.4: PerfSONAR AA Service Specification
Date: 31st of January 2007 Download: media:DJ1-2-4_Perfsonar_AA_Service_Specification.pdf
This document is the result of an intense interaction between JRA1 and JRA5 and is meant to guide perfSONAR designers and developers through the task of exploiting the eduGAIN AA Infrastructure and code to add AA functionalities in perfSONAR. Hopefully, it will also serve as a reference for other GN2 activities having the same need of exploiting the eduGAIN framework and implementation.
DJ1.2.5: Metric Composition Framework:Experimental Results and Sub-layer3 Monitoring
Date: 27th of July 2007 Download: media:DJ1-2-5_Metric_Composition_Framework_Exp_Results_and_Sub-Layer3_Mon.pdf
Network performance monitoring offers visibility inside a network, allowing the detection of anomalies or performance degradations in the provided services and assisting in the localisation of circuit faults. This deliverable addresses three different aspects of network monitoring describing how to identify the available bandwidth in a multi-hop path, proposing a “concise interface” for presenting performance metrics of an entire network, and proposing a methodology for assessing the end-to-end performance of a L1/L2 path.
DJ1.3.3: JRA1 Phase III Implementation Report
Date: June, 11th, 2007 Download: media:GN2-07-074v3_DJ1-3-3-JRA1_Phase_III_Implementation_Report.pdf
This version is for download. Internal Dante revision in progress, So please don´t send updates at the moment.
The GN2 JRA1 activity has delivered a third set of services and enhancements were conducted on the services developed previously. A
Topology Service was developed to get overall information of network topologies, and new Measurement Points and Archives for different
types of metrics were introduced. Functional Testing was established to ensure the production of high quality code for perfSONAR releases,
controlled by the Release Management Team.
DJ1.3.4: JRA1 Phase IV Implementation Report
Date: March, 31st, 2008 Download: media:DJ1-3-4_JRA1_Phase_IV_Implementation_Report.pdf
The GN2 JRA1 activity has delivered a fourth set of services, and enhancements were conducted on the services developed previously. This delivery introduces authentication functionality to the perfSONAR framework. Particular attention has been paid, in partnership with the SA3 WI-15 Release Management Team, to ease of installation and of configuration. A subset of the release software forms the core of the Multi-Domain Monitoring perfSONAR software release that will be used for the Multi-Domain service Monitoring Prototype.
