Objective

  1. Evaluate the progress against the next release targets. (the developments for the release must be finished by the meeting time).
  2. Ease the installation.
  3. Define the next steps (Authorization, new features)
  4. Identify what can go wrong within and between tools for the Service Desk and provide the SD with some means of indentifying waht goes wrong.

Parallel session topics - per categories

The parallel sessions are classified per category of interest. The two categories for which there are many topics are highlighted in color.

Per category

Each parallel session need to designate at the beginning of the session

  • a session secretary that will take notes
  • a reported that will repport the main decisions or the main points to the group on Wednesday afternoon (parallel session reporting). They have 5 min for reporting and questions (one slide max).

  • Description: Session dedicated on performance improvements. Focused on RRD MA but also more general to all services in terms of changes in pS-base. Starting with the replacement of axis1.4 by axis2.0. Discuss benchmark test scenario set-up.

MDM prototype and authentication

  • Session helper: Nicolas ; WI: 15, session length: 1h
  • Description: Identify recommendation for using using authentication (and thus largerly testing it) vs not using authentication for the MDM prototype. What are the implications for the visualisation tools, the web-services, the deployers and the users. Pros and cons and exceptions.

Authentication implementation into the web-services

  • Description: (i) Tutorial to implement the AA classes within the perfSONAR java web-services, plus timeline (30 min). (ii) Identification on how to create re-usable authentication components in perl.

Finding the closest MP and other cNIS related topics

  • Session helper: Andreas; WI: SA3 WI13, session length: 1H00
  • Description: This session is about identifying a mechanism to find the closest MP from an IP address. This mechanism should help for troubleshooting purposes (e.g. along a path) where measurements are unavailable at the end points, but maybe in the proximity. It will be discussed what is a reasonable measure to specify the proximity and how to make use and integrate this information in perfSONAR visualisation tools.

  • Description: How to use BWCTL in the MDM pilot: (i) what is the goal of those tests, (ii) what is the right scheduling to choose (e.g. during the night only) , (iii) avoid conflict with production traffic, (iv) are iperf test at 100Mbps sufficient enough, (v) how to interpret the results, (vi) how to operate those tools, (vi) optional verify the impact on application (although it is already known).
