Agenda

  1. Developer status update on Hand-over of software (18 January until 29 February) and all specification documents and change logs:
    1. Candido - Authentication Service
      1. Documentation and change log complete, available on SVN trunk.
      2. Software - RC2 (using the last webadmin tool jar file and some changes in the wizard.template file) is out? Cândido is not present.
        1. Services using authN component included in perfSONAR base - at least perfSONAR base >= 20080115. No answers to this email, Nicholas will send it again to get more answers.
        2. Updating perfSONAR-base - 20080226 (Maciej) or 20080225 (Cándido)?
      3. Testing update (David and Patricia) - scripts are ready. There is a problem with SAML assertions, David and Patricia need Cândido to help them solve this.
        1. ACTION ONGOING Michalis to contact David and Patricia to ask them if they can install the AS from scratch as part of testing the service.
    2. Roman - RRD MA
      1. Documentation - All documents and change log on SVN trunk.
      2. Software - 3.0-RC2 is available.
        1. ACTION ONGOING Roman needs a Sun server with Solaris for testing. Nicholas to send an email to the list and try to arrange this. Any answers?
      3. Testing update (Michalis) - Functional - Scripts are ready, Michalis did install the service and has run the testing scripts - Update on the bugs found:
        1. The service failed to register to LS - bug found on LS, RC3 that corrects it will be ready soon.
        2. Authentication Testing - The service was unable to authenticate successfully requests using SAML assertions - Waiting for Cándido to analyze this, this problem affects all services.
        3. Installation Testing - There is a problem configuring the RRD MA through the web wizard when eXist is already installed in Tomcat and a non empty admin password has been set. In this case service configuration fails as the wizard will use the empty admin password to configure the exist database - Michalis will solve this, it affects all services that use exist.
      4. Testing - Performance
        1. ACTION ONGOING Roman to read test reports and comment on them.
    3. Roman - SQL MA
      1. Documentation - All documents and change log on SVN trunk.
      2. Software - RC2 is expected this week. Web admin integration is done, only RPM is missing.
        1. ACTION ONGOING Roman, Nicholas and Loukik to schedule a conf. call to discuss what needs to be developed from E2EMON MP - Roman has received no news from Loukik or Nicholas - Nicholas to investigate on this.
      3. Testing update (Sasa Cavara) - scripts are ready, needs two days to run the scripts when new RC is out.
        1. Latest RC is installed and all testing scripts are finished.
        2. Authentication: waiting for eduGain login info.
      4. LS - working on it. Having some trouble - it's the same bug that has been found on RRD-MA.
        1. Echo: all soapui tests were successful.
    4. Stijn - SSH-Telnet MP
      1. All documents and change log on SVN trunk.
      2. Software - no further news since the release of RC1, hasn't received any comments yet either.
      3. Testing Update (Panagiotis) - Testing expected to have started. Update on:
        1. Scripts need to be updated with the issues found on the MDM Pilot (new commands and tests to verify robustness of the service).
        2. Missing account on JUNIPER router with TELNET and SSH. Testing will start with Cisco routers. One week should be enough for developing scripts and performing tests.
    5. Verena - BWCTL MP
      1. Documentation and change log available on DFN Erlangen SVN
      2. Software - New RC is out, without web admin interface. Unknown date for next RC.
      3. Testing update - scripts are not ready, Stijn will extend the existing java scripts to cover new functionalities. Progress?
    6. Maciej - Single LS
      1. Documentation and change log available on SVN trunk.
      2. Software - New RC (1.2-RC3) is available for testing - fixes problem of RRD MA registration.
        1. Web Admin for LS - editing properties configuration files issue - this concerns all services - ACTION ONGOING Michalis to start working on this.
      3. Testing update (Prodromos) - scripts are ready. Started testing on RC3?
        1. Found some problems with the wizard - Michalis suggests that the developers write a document with information about the wizard configuration for their services. ACTION NEW Michalis to send a template of this document for developers to follow.
        2. ACTION NEW Michalis to ask developers to send Prodromos the LS Register requests produced by their service, so testing can be done on interoperability issues that might occur.
    7. Guilherme - CLI MP
      1. Documentation and change logs avaqilable on SVN trunk.
      2. Software - CL-MP 2.0 RC2 is ready with web admin support and RPM installation.
      3. Testing (Jochem) - scripts ready to support new features?
        1. Will test for normal functionality and/or support for AA and/or cron/store functionality (schedule measurement)?
    8. Jeff and Jason - perfSONOBuoy - if everything is still on track for the end of February, this will be a good enough date to enter the 3.0 Release
      1. Documentation - first week of March.
      2. Software - perfSONARBUOY ready for testing? Web-configuration will follow by a week or two.
      3. Testing - end of Feb.
    9. Maxim and Yee - Pinger
      1. Documentation - ready
      2. Software - final testing is happening?

    10. ACTION:Infrastructure to help functional testing (update from Michalis and Nicholas):
      1. A LS deployed so that people can register the information - DONE

        1. What to use on Debian and Free BSD instead of RPMs? Roman suggested creating WAR files and putting then in Tomcat. Roman will investigate this option when servers are ready. Guilherme will investigate converting RPMs to Debian packages.
      4. Accounts on routers to test the Telnet/SSH MP - ONGOING only a Juniper Telnet and SSH access is still missing.

      2. Software - Cándido hopes he can release RC2 tomorrow using the last perfsonar-base (20080226, as Maciej said) and some minor changes in the webadmin interface.
        1. Updating perfSONAR-base - 20080226 (Maciej) or 20080225 (Cándido)? - All developers must update to 20080226 (Maciej).
      3. Testing update (David and Patricia) - scripts are ready.
        1. the certificate case of the AS functional testing is done
        2. the SAML Assertion case does not work and that's why we have an open question to Candido how to do it with SOAP UI (how can we combine the web test tool with SOAP UI)
        3. ACTION NEW Nicholas to shedule a conf. call with David, Patricia and Michalis to clarificate the status of testing for the AS.

      2. Software - RC2 with new perfsonar-base will be available next week. From RC1, received comments on problems found on metadata configuration file. Corrected them.
      3. Testing Update (Panagiotis) - Testing have started.
        1. Scripts are being updated with the issues found on the MDM Pilot (new commands and tests to verify robustness of the service).

        1. WebAdmin tool: Will hopefully be ready until 14.3. At the moment Verena is working on the RPM package for it.
        2. Further release candidates: As Stijn is working on the tests now, we expect to get bugs checked in, so probably there will be new release candidates in the near future
      3. Testing update - Stijn is extending the existing java scripts to cover new functionalities. Scripts expected to be ready end of next week, then one day to run them.
        1. Stijn was able to install the RC, with the help of Verena and Jochem, who wrote some words in wiki for clarification of installation.
    6. Maciej - Single LS
      1. Documentation and change log available on SVN trunk.
      2. Software - New RC (1.2-RC3) is available for testing - fixes problem of RRD MA registration.
        1. Web Admin for LS - editing properties configuration files issue - this concerns all services - ACTION ONGOING Michalis will release new version of web admin libraries next monday. All developers will need to modify their properties files, according to email that Michalis will send.
      3. Testing update (Prodromos) - scripts are ready. Started testing on RC3.
        1. Prodromos is havong problems with malformed requests, LS returns invalid responses. This will not be fixed until next release, so for now Maciej will modify RNC files to make attributes optional, and help remedy this. One RNC files are changed, Prodromos expects tests to take one day of work.
        2. Found some problems with the wizard - Michalis suggests that the developers write a document with information about the wizard configuration for their services. ACTION ONGOING Michalis to send a template of this document for developers to follow - Michalis will modify the Installation Actions document to include info for the web wizard.
        3. ACTION NEW Michalis to ask developers to send Prodromos the LS Register requests produced by their service, so testing can be done on interoperability issues that might occur - got zero answers. Stijn asked if there are LS Register requests generated by ps-base? If so, is there a way to get to them, something besides capturing my network traffic? Answer is no, has to capture network traffic.
    7. Guilherme - CLI MP
      1. Documentation and change logs avaqilable on SVN trunk.
      2. Software - CL-MP 2.0 RC2 is ready with web admin support and RPM installation.
      3. Testing (Jochem) - scripts ready to support new features?
        1. Test scripts and documentation for ping, OWAMP, and BWCTL support are ready and functional testing is finished. Only a few issues came up and are filed in bugzilla.         2. Documentation and test script creation has started for traceroute support.
        3. Will hopefully be ready this week.
        4. Nothing done so far for Cron functionality.
