October 2004 report
In addition to the two WI already working (WI1 - Requirement and WI2 – Design), a third work-Item has initiated his work: WI4 – Evaluation.
The first task “Requirement Report” of the WI1 is still receiving questionnaire answers. A work of gathering vocabulary used by the activity and defining it has also been started. The “State-of-the-art” phase is progressing; the web-form has been populated with additional tools and infrastructure of interest for the activity. The web-form entries have been allocated to partners and new entries for standards have also been added to this form. Some of the entries have been chosen as of potential used for JRA1 and are more thoroughly investigated by the “Tool Evaluation” tasks.
The “General Framework Design” task of the WI2 has started to identify the main functionalities of the framework. This work is done in collaboration with the Internet2 e2epi group.
A third WI has started to produce a detailed work item workplan for the deployment of measurement equipment for the development use of the JRA1 and started the collection of information related to the hardware needs and where to place them. The JRA1 website has been updated to provide support to the partners working on the various tasks. A list of communication options listing the communication services made available by the various NRENs has been set-up.
Email discussions with other activity are being held in order to refine how practically the GN2 activities could collaborate between each other.
