Web-Services
Several bugs were fixed and the developers have been actively involved in preparing training material for an Multi-Domain Monitoring installation training (see below).
PerfSONAR 2.0 was released. PerfSONAR 2.0 includes:
- Round Robin Database Measurement Archive (link utilisation , link capacity)
- SQL Measurement Archive (link utilisation , link capacity, Layer 2 circuit status)
- SSH/Telnet Measurement Point
- BWCTL Measurement Point (TCP/UDP on-demand throughput tests)
- Lookup Service
PerfSONAR 2.0 was late due to the underestimation of the efforts required for releasing the software (as the release process was defined after the Y3+6M plans were made) and to a lesser extend due to the diversion of JRA1 resources for launching the Multi-Domain Monitoring (MDM) pilot service. This concludes MJ1.3.3 and MJ1.5.1.
Other
A perfSONAR training was organised for the NRENs taking part to the MDM pilot. It aimed at teaching how to install the web-services that will be used during the MDM Pilot phase and explaining how to use the visualisation tools. The training was attended by 9 people from 7 NRENs and was well appreciated. It allowed identifying directions for improvements for the perfSONAR tools. The visualisation tool training will be re-used internally by the NRENs for training their own NOC and PERT.
A paper describing perfSONAR was submitted at the “Journée des Réseaux” that will be held in November in France. The “Journée des Réseaux” is where the French NREN network community meets every year. The paper was accepted.
The Multi-Domain Monitoring service was presented at the TNC07 conference.
