Contents |
Info
Date/time: 17th March 2006, 14:00 CET
Expected time of conference call: 90 minutes
Agenda
- Review of the action plan from the previous conference call
- Report on tool testing (Netflow_tool_testing_reports)
- Y3 plan
- perfSONAR architecture and netflow measurements correlation
- netflow exchange format
Minutes
Attendees: Hans Trompert (HT), Luuk Oostenbrink (LO), Alessandro Inzerilli (AI), Jon Kare Hellen (JH), Maurizio Molina (MM), Silvije Milisic (SM), Danijel Matek (DM), Igor Velimirovic (IV)
Guest: Ulisses Alonso (UA)
- All partners should put their reports on tool testing on the wiki page (Netflow_tool_testing_reports): Surfnet for IPFLow, GARR for flow-tools and nfsen/nfdump, CARNet for NERD. Template for tool testing report: Netflow tools evaluation guidelines v0.1. NOTE: since generic 'jra1' account on wiki is disabled, in order to edit wiki page all partners should have personal wiki accounts. Ask Maciej Glowiak, (mac (at) man (dot) poznan (dot) pl) if you need one. Also, reports could be sent to IV by e-mail.
- After all reports are compiled, final review of the reports and tool requirements will be discussed, and best tool(s) chosen.
- Y3 planning is almost done. IV and HT will once again review it after some additional clarifications and discussion with Nicolas finishes.
- The most important open questions regarding integration netflow measurement infrastructure with overall perfSONAR architecture, which should be solved very soon:
- functional design of netflow infrastructure: HT proposed two possible designs, and presented them to the perfSONAR prototype mailing list, expected some opinions and/or suggestions. Since there was no feedback since, HT will forward question to the general JRA1 mailing list.
- security issue regarding transport of the row non-anonomyzed netflow data: there is not a clear point at the moment of how to deal with that issue. It will partly depend on the chosen functional design.
- netflow exchange format: issue will also become much more precise when functional design becomes specified.
- IV can not come at Berlin meeting, DM will represent CARNet instead. IV will prepare netflow presentation (report) before Berlin and discuss it with other partners. In Berlin DM will present it to JRA1 group.
Actions
- all partners to write tool testing reports
- HT to discuss functional design issue on general JRA1 mailing list (done!)
- IV to wait for more feedback from partners, discuss it with Nicolas, and together with sub-task partners finalize:
- final Y3 plan proposal
- final functional design proposal
- IV to prepare presentation (report) for Berlin meeting and discuss it with partners before Berlin meeting
Next conference call if needed, to be announced before Tuesday, 21st March 2006. If not, next meeting is in Berlin.
