Location info
The perfSONAR Developers Meeting and other meetings scheduled the week of 09/08-09/12 will be held in the MITC Building where Internet2 has its office. Internet2's address is: 1000 Oakbrook Drive, Suite 300, Ann Arbor, MI 48104 A map and driving directions can be found here.
Airport Information
The closest international Airport is Detroit (DTW). The major domestic carrier is Northwest airlines (NWA) but the airport is serviced by all other major carriers. International service can be found on the following carriers to the the list cities (possibly more than what I was able to find via wikipedia):
- Air France (Paris-Charles de Gaulle)
- KLM (Amsterdam)
- Lufthansa (Frankfurt)
- Northwest Airlines (Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, London-Gatwick, London-Heathrow, Paris-Charles de Gaulle )
Please allow the usual 1 hour domestic/2 hrs international for security procedures.
Ground Transportation
Ann Arbor is 25 miles (40 km) from DTW. Driving directions can be found here.
All major car rental vendors (Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, Thrifty, etc.) are available. It is recommended that reservations be made prior to arrival.
Additionally, a shared van/bus service is available for $15 USD each way between Ann Arbor and DTW: http://michiganflyer.com . This service picks up at some of the major hotels near the Internet2 office, and it is recommended that arrangements be made beforehand.
Hotel info
Internet2 has reserved a block of rooms at the Four Points by Sheraton which is about a 10 minute walk from our office. The room block is in effect for the following dates: arrival on Sunday, September 7 and departure on Friday, September 12. The room block deadline is Wednesday, August 13. After that time, reservations will be accepted on a space availability basis only and are subject to prevailing rates.
The room block rate is $92.00 USD (plus taxes - currently 8%). This is for either a single or double room. Note that all rooms are non-smoking. When making your reservation, please mention you are with the perfSONAR/DICE Meeting.
