Steering Committee

The perfSONAR Steering Committee (SC) is a group of individuals responsible for general policy, decisions, coordinating activities and related matters affecting the perfSONAR project as a whole.

Developer decisions should be escalated to the SC only if there's no consensus. Also when due to decision important milestones (completion of a tool, of a functionality used by multiple services, release) are about to be missed by more than 3 weeks; or if a changes on tools requires more than 10 person day of work of efforts or if a tool require too many additional resources (although the decision will rather be taken internally within the projects).

From release management point of view this group will determine what functionality will go into each upcoming release taking into account how much work specific functionalities will take to implement and how much quality can be achieved within given time constraints.
